MM2H agent: check the licence before you pay anyone

You cannot apply for Malaysia My Second Home on your own. The ministry guidelines say every application is submitted and completed through an MM2H business licensed under the Tourism Industry Act 1992, and goes through the One Stop Centre. So choosing an MM2H agent is your first big decision, and it is worth checking the licence before you pay anyone.

This is an independent guide. We explain the requirements and costs from the ministry pages, show you what to check on an agent, and, if you want, pass your details to an agent we work with. We may be paid by that agent if you become their client. The form says so before you send anything.

How much does MM2H cost

The ministry fees are small next to the other costs. For Silver, the participating fee is RM1,000, paid once. The processing fee is RM5,000 for the main applicant and RM2,500 for each dependant.

The big numbers are money you hold, not fees. Silver needs a fixed deposit of USD 150,000 in a Malaysian bank and a home worth at least RM600,000, bought after you are approved.

An agent charges on top of all this. The tier and overview pages we read print no agent fee, so ask any agent for a written quote and what it covers.

MM2H licensed agent: what to check

The ministry publishes a register of licensed MM2H companies on its MM2H website. Each entry shows the company name, a licence number and the dates the licence is valid.

Before you pay an agent, ask for their licence number in writing and find that exact company on the register. Check that today falls inside the validity dates.

  • The company name on your contract matches the register entry, letter for letter.
  • The licence number matches.
  • Today is inside the validity dates.
  • You have the fee, and what it covers, in writing before you pay.

Ask an agent we work with

If you would rather talk to someone, leave your contact and a few details. We pass them to the agent named in the box you tick at the end of the form. We may be paid if you become their client. You pay us nothing through this site.

We do not ask for passport numbers or financial documents. The agent collects those after you speak.
